Adliya van Niekerk.
Adliya van Niekerk joined the team in November 2018 to manage all legal and financial matters for Innovation Edge. In addition, she provides strategic support to active investments to bolster their financial and governance capabilities. Adliya also keeps the portfolio management team abreast of the latest in innovative financial models.
Her passion for innovative finance was sparked at Ashburton Investments, where she was a member of the impact investing team. She also offered operational and financial management support for the specialised credit funds and their related legal entities. During her articles at Ernst & Young, she worked in a range of industries including renewable energy, oil and gas, pharmaceuticals and the largest cement producer in Zambia.
Adliya was also on the board of the Association for the Advancement of Black Accountants in Southern Africa (ABASA) in the Western Cape, where she helped launch a leadership development programme that provided mentorship and skills development to accountants from disadvantaged backgrounds.
She completed her BCom (Financial Accounting) at UCT, her BCompt Honours (Accounting Sciences) at UNISA and attained her designation as a Chartered Accountant(SA) in 2014.
