Strategic Projects Associate

Ruben Mpanya is the Strategic Projects Associate responsible for providing leadership to drive the mission of Innovation Edge and to support the Executive Director in the day-to-day management of the organisation. He collaborates with cross-functional teams to define, refine, and execute IE’s strategic roadmap and also cultivates relationships with potential funders to drive fundraising endeavours.

Prior to joining Innovation Edge, he worked at a Pan-African financial institution where he was part of the Strategic Investment team responsible for propelling its Africa Inorganic Expansion strategy. He also contributed to the team overseeing the growth strategy of the South African subsidiaries.

Ruben holds a Bachelors of Commerce in Economics and Econometrics. His passion for synergizing finance and innovation and its potential to bring substantial positive change in the lives of South African people led him to Innovation Edge, where he hopes to channel his aspirations and contribute to the advancement of a better South Africa.
